The Clink (Knox Road, in front of Cardiff Prison, Cardiff) – the brainchild of award-winning chef Alberto Crisci, this restaurant is unusual in that it is staffed in part by those who were previously in jail for minor offenses (with the owners giving them a second chance in life by gaining valued experience in the restaurant industry). The restaurant itself is brightly-lit with sleek modern décor, serving mostly local dishes, such as shoulder of lamb with lemon, olive, and caper tapenade, and wild boar and venison ragout with grilled polenta.
